Worth Blogging About: Tanga – Horse Carriage

I loved riding in a tanga during my visit to pak, that i forsaked the sensible alternative of an automobile, for almost any short distance trip.

In one of my first rides on a tanga, in my extreme love of this fad hardly ever seen on British soil, i asked the tanga wala, “pe sumra wakht ke ba peshawar ta oorasu pe tanga ke?”  :D

Yep my cousins gave me some odd looks. :P

The tangey wala said, with an odd blank face, “travelling from here to Nowshera  would be half the journey and that would take 11 hours, and then from there to Peshawar another 11 hours.”

My cousins just laughed.

I didn’t, i thought that would make quite a cool road trip, something worthy of bloggin about.

Kismaat

Posted in Crazy Stuff, Psychology, Sound Off!, Spirituality, Sufi, Thinking Point on 12 March, 2007 by Pukhtana

Kismaat is when life plays a trick on you, your heading in one direction and suddenly it all goes wrong and you end up going in a completely different direction, in a way totally  unrelated to the first in any way at all.

So your going happily along this secondary path and the end is in sight, and then kismaat comes in  twists things up and you end up again at the former and thats where you stay forever.

Thats my odd vague way of demonstrating what kismaat is?

Ebay – buy it, don’t use it, regret it.

Hehehe, have been going ebay crazy the last few days, have bought at least 1 item a day on ebay, and erm looks like today is going to be the biggest spend.

Well its not all for me, so i don’t feel to guilty about it, but still ebay can be addictive.

One thing about ebay though it can be slightly cheaper then buying directly from shops or online shops but they usually bump up the postage and packing which i guess you know before you even buy so its the buyers choice really.

One thing though, what a rip off though, ebay sellers have to pay ebay charges once their item is sold and again pay another set of charges if the buyer pays through the RECOMMENDED and much advertised and affiliated paypal ( which is also owned buy ebay).

Bad for the seller but lots of free money rolling into ebay headquarters, surprised no one has ever taken ebay to court over this, where is people power? :D

Snazaroo tiger!

Posted in Crazy Stuff, My Art, My life on 21 February, 2007 by Pukhtana

So i recievied my snazaroo face paints that im going to be taking to pukhtunkhwa for my little kddie cuzuns, and erm i couldn’t help but try it on first! Heheeeeeeeeee

I made a simple cat mouse type features on my sis who voluntered, it was kinda ok nothing great just looked at the picture in the book, and followed the colours they had used and jsut copied it as much as i could.

Wasn’t too pleased with the results, i thought to myself if i now take this with me to pukhtunkhwa, and have my cuzuns ask me to do this for them, it is gonna look crap and a waste of time, energy, and money!

Then saw the ultimate face paint job thing, – a tiger, so i decided to try it on myself, who could resist eh?

Got a detachable mirror and applied the base colours yellow and orange, added white patches aroudn the eyes and on the upper lip, did black outlines and black stokes, where the black strokes where, i did white strokes and some red strokes too.

Added black nose, nose line, and whiskers off course, and red underneath the eye too, and voila, i was a tiger, and even if i say so myself, it looked good, shame i aint gonna embarass myself and put the actual picture up, though i did have unexpected visitors around.

No, i did not wash it off, i left it on! :D

My little cuzun insisted i painted her face too, which i couldn’t as they left quickly but promised i would do it next time inshallah, here is an idea of what my tiger looked like as this is the image that was in the snazaroo booklet:

Finally, how did i actually remove the face paint?

Just simply with water, it came off very easily!

Oh my god! : Steve McCurry

So apparently i’m supposed to be expecting a call from Steve McCurry, that is like a writer getting a chance to speak to Shakespere!

Oh my dear god, no idea why he wants to speak to me, an email would have been fine, and less nerve wracking, ahh got butterflies, what if he calls and i’m busy?

Gonna line up a few questions, and hopefully inshallah  write it up and blog it! Phew!

Huh what? Me angry all the time?

Posted in Crazy Stuff, My Blog, Thinking Point on 20 February, 2007 by Pukhtana

So i was mentiong to someone that i am Bloggin, so they said, “what are you angry about this time?”

Ermmmm me angry? Is being passionate, voicing your opinion on the wrongs in society being angry or caring?

 You decide?

Traffic Jam Games

Posted in Britain, Crazy Stuff, My life, Thinking Point on 9 February, 2007 by Pukhtana

So driving back home this afternoon was mayhem as usual, the roads were packed  so what i do to keep myself from boredom?

Well i play a game of trying to take a bypass from the main traffic jam route.

It’s not much of a bypass, as the bypass just about takes me to the end of the grid locked road, but its enough to keep entertained and trying to calculate/figure out whether taking the bypass has actually reduced my travel time.

Usually i have a nagging doubt the cars i was stuck between have long passed by and i just took the bypass for no reason, but today, i was 100% sure that my bypass through the side roads was worth it, so next time inshallah no nagging doubt.

Though there is only one way to prove the bypass is worth taking, if there are two cars travelling and i take the bypass and have communincation with the second car, then thats possible, well until me and another driver are THAT bored i shall just believe my word for now. :D

International Calls on Mobiles Using Cross Network Minutes

Posted in Britain, Crazy Stuff, News, Sound Off!, Technology and Gadgets, Thinking Point on 8 February, 2007 by Pukhtana

Why why why??? ( Yes i’m in a complaining sort of mood today.)

Why in hell, does ORANGE (mobile netowrk)  insist on blocking certain numbers that allow you to use your cross network minutes to call abroad????

THREE (mobile network) seems to be ok, and i can access that number from my brothers mobile, but cross network minutes on Orange can’t be used, as the customer service dude said, “Orange blocks those numbers, any numbers we haven’t added to the blacklist you can use until we blacklist them.” – What the hell is that about?

WHY??? WHY??? I don’t see how it will have a negative affect on the network providers, it is already a fact that they overcharge us UK users ( yes we get overcharged for a lot of damn things :P from cars to VAT to inheritance tax ) so if we make a few cheap international calls using our paid for cross network minutes whats their problem???

Maybe i should just complain, but im pretty sure my one little letter isn’t going to change things. :|

Where is People Power???

Very funny post! : oh my god my internet isn’t working!!!

Posted in Crazy Stuff, Technology and Gadgets, Thinking Point on 7 February, 2007 by Pukhtana

i read this and had to laugh, the article is about what one should do when ones internet access is down.

I found it funny due to the comments left by people, pointing out and reminding me of people i know, that react  like it is the end of the world when ….”oh my god my internet isn’t working!”

Hmm getting out and about and seeing life is definately the one and only thing one should do when your internet is down, the others are just things you should do at the last moment when you know your PC is about to crash and give in. :D

Well thats what i always end up doing, it is almost a 6 month cycle, or if i’m lucky an annual event, the death and reincarnation of my PC, if it is has been good, it is upgraded with some nice new hardware, if it has lead a bad life well, we replace it. :)

My fantastic brother!
