Pashto TV Programmes in the UK: KBC, Venus and DM Digital
Finally there are programmes on UK tv that are in PASHTO. Umbarakshai tol UK pukhtanu ta!
Anyways the most popular ones are the ones on KBC presented by someone i know, Javed Iqbal (Uncle) Yusufzai lol. He is the big up drun looking pukhtun dude with the sadar and wascat ( waiscoat) and beard and tash and he wears samey kaprei… that is usually on Mondays around 10.30pm though last night they had some “young generation” ( he was wearing a hoodie) Afghani pukhtun dude presenting the show.
I thought was an excellent idea as to be honest it is about time pukhtuns united as simply pukhtuns and i sadly know too many Pukhtuns from Pak sides that consider Afghan pukhtuns inferior, and vice versa and that really upsets me. It seems that the durand line has worked. Yeah i know there are good and bad everywhere but really is about time we just all referred to each other as Pukhtuns, full stop.
Actually on saying that someone did call up this young generation dude last night, and i think the caller was from his locality so the presenter said “wrura da charta na yei, sta pukhtu rabandei dheera khewaga olageyda” the caller replied saying……… “wrura tola pukhtu khewaga da” and there i was thinking – “shaba nara!” 
Back to the point……
- Show presented by the young Afghani pukhtun dude – Mondays 10.30pm channel 863- KBC on SKY satellite
- Show presented by Javed Iqbal (Uncle) - Thursdays and repeats as well will confirm timings….. channel 863- KBC on SKY satellite
- The (in)famous Tang Takor on DM Digital – sky satellite – Sundays 9.30am
- Finally the one with the (pretty) lady presenter on DM digital on Saturdays 8 or 9pm- sky satellite
Comments i have heard about this show – “da khu pukhtaneh ne da, sar toora nasta da, pe show kei khalqu ta masali kai ow pakhpala sar toora da” lol - typical pukhtun comments!

The lady has the title Pakhto Tehzeeb or somthing, she came on air the other day with shoulder cut Tshirt , and yes – sure enough…somone called up and told her off,now here we know that we as UK Brits dont realy mind, but from our pakhto brothers who the majority including myself to a certain extent are of an Islamic disposition will not believe she is representing the ‘Pakhtun adab’ by talking about Pukhtunwali and at the same time contradicting it by being according to mosts paskhtuns ‘barbanda’ , but then covering here hair would probably offend most men because on the whole pakhtuns in the UK have been ‘Dala-fied’ here, well I hope she and most pukhtuns can meet up somwhere in the middle i.e. cover her arms at least!, or she wont last long in the job, the minute I saw her I knew she will get abusive phone calls,you see you have to look at the audience and do accordingly,i.e. if she was on MTV hey no problem put the mini skirt on! but this is a show for another type of audience its not if but when she will get a harsh call – its a shame because she speaks such elequent smooth paskhto and is a pleasure to watch,I would not wish to lose her because of a few men pointing out her obvious mistake,so I wish her and the team the very best of luck in adjusting to cater for all.

just read your comments thought to make some correction as i am watching that Pashto Music Show from last few weeks,The guy is doing a good job and as per my knowlege he is not afghani.and By the way channel number is 836 KBC 10pm every monday its not 863 ok,As I remember host name is Shahid ,
the rest is that the lady who does pastho program dont know to much about but its onn venus not on DM there is another program on DM which is Tang takor

Corrections noted…………. well wateva that shahid dude is, afghani or not pukhtun khu dei kana, and i dont know but i prefer programes with drun presenters like him and Javed iqbal Uncle, though i find Javed Iqbal Uncle’s voice really annoying……..(sorry!)

Shahid is my fav presenter. he really makes an effort. I’d love to meet him.
I like tang takor…although their timings keep changing, its a good show.

Just been watching this KBC channel for a few weeks now. Their staff is getting better. Saw a new presenter called Atif doing a show on sunday night at 10:30, he played 2 pashto songs in his show, really liked his presenting style as he seems very confident on screen.

The lady on ‘pukhto tehzeeb’ deserved what she got.. we all knew it was coming though she shouldnt have been publicly humiliated like that.. culture plays a part and we all know pathans tend to be strict – its all about honour and modesty, but lets not forget religion.
The shows are great, all of them.. and all work effectively to create a feeling of unity amongst pathans – which, is very much needed!!
But.. its only a small but – the songs they play on the shows are repeated over and over each time and most are pretty, well.. crap, and it gets so boringggg – i understand thats also a matter of opinion but im not talking just for myself here, i know that when i say this i am talking on behalf of quite alot of people..
